picked this up at a garage sale for $5, going to mount it on a utilty quad, i cant find any tune up specs for it cobra 19 dx IV i dont want to change parts, just a clip and tune up for mod and pwr ????

DO NOT clip, thats for the mudducks

Find your modulation pot and adjust, and find the coils for power. Do that and those radios will do a clean 18watts. Clip it and it will do an overmodulated 18watts

im aware of that ... i need the #s for the pots and coils cant find them for a dx IV cobra 19

I believe this is it

DM1 is mod limiter
RVM1 is mod. pot
Spread LT5/LT12 a little
Spread LT7/LT11 alot

Every coil is different so a constant tone into the mic while you strecth or squeeze a coil helps a lot...

I use a function generator set to the frequency I am tuning on so i can keep my eyes on the meter.

Plus a constant "tone" from a generator is more reliable than you talking into the mic going aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

Spread LT7/LT11 alot Good Advice i just di my moms radio in her car all i did was stretch the coils and turn up rvm1 and i went from 4 to almost 12 watts by my old junk dosy THANK YOU
