Yeh...and to think how fast he was going to cut that far into the bridge OR.....how cheaply made the bridge is. Both are scary to think of.

Having hauled equipment as I imagine you have, there is this device called a tape measure..........But I can attest that concrete now has to be manufactured as cheap as possible to at least make a profit from it. There have been times when the market forced companies to sell the mix for less than the ingredients to batch it. This happens when a large company (like Dolese Bros.) wants to put a smaller company out of business. They are willing to lose money for a year to eliminate competition.
But the concrete they batched using too much fly ash and add mixes is still out there. Many used re-crushed broken up slabs and didn't bother washing out the dust in an effort to show a profit. Steel reinforcement (re-bar) has to be done right or the slab will fail.
Enjoy that as you drive past a crew of illegals tying steel on a state road job and realize soon you will driving over the bridge they built.

Here a classic dump truck oops..How in the world did he do that? Forget his PTO was in gear? I've done that once.....many many years ago 1973?. Cleaned a whole block of telephone lines out and did not even know it till I got to the end of the street and glanced in my mirror. Man what a surprise. I dropped the body and scooted out of there with about 15 wires streaming under the cab protector. Bunch of no phone call makin' folks on that street:lol:

i read a report that that one was due to improper loading of the track hoe
same exact thing happened on the Baltimore beltway years back, hit a pedestrian bridge, killed two people when the bridge collapsed and hit 3 cars
i saw a dump truck flip over on it's side once cutting a turn too hard..... it was loud and he almost killed some people.... i said "HOLY SHIT!"
