View Full Version : Replacement limiter for a 148

My 148 is missing TR24, the limiter. when i got the radio it was this way. It is my understanding that the limiter in this rig should not be removed so I would like to replace it. My question is what can i use to replace it? thanks

I got a junk chassis, I'll look and see if it is still in it.

:eek:It has not been unsoldered and removed, it's torn out! Wonder who did this "tuneup"? There are allot more 2sc945's in here if you need one.

I was thinking diode and the wife's new vac went down at the same time and got sidetracked. Woul've been difficult to fit a diode in the TR slot anyway!LOL!

Im pretty shure its a 2sc 945 ck for him any way,. Or a 2sc 1674 or 2sc 1675 ill look later ILL CK SAMS PHOTOFACTS

It is a 2SC945. i got that radio many years ago off ebay i think. has been sitting on the shelf since about 1993 or so. this replacement component...is it something i can pick up at Shit Shack?

The limiter tr-24 is a 2sc- 945

ok thanks for the help. now for the big question hehe...should I replace TR24??? R131 is gone also ( this one i heard can be removed no prob, but the TR should stay) what say you fellas?

R131 disables TR24, you need to put both back in, then you can adjust the modulation, if my memory serves me right, with VR7. If you are not going to put R131 back in, there is no use replacing TR24.
