Default Galaxy 225 (Palomar 225 Clone) Amp Question: Missing Capacitor value

I have a Galaxy 225 amp, which is a Palomar 225 clone. It's missing the compensator capacitor on the output transformer. I can't seem to find out what the value of this capacitor is to replace it.

If anyone knows what it should be, or owns a galaxy 225 and can look this up for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Below are some pictures of the missing cap.

I can read the value on the cap in the picture. But the first picture is of a Palomar 225 using two SD144's My amp uses two MRF455's. Does it use the same value cap or a different one since the pills are different?
    Thanks for the post though.

Thanks for the reply guys! Would I be in any danger of frying my amp if I get the value wrong?

i would get the 820pf and put it on. if you put the wrong value the output will be low.

Cool. I'll tamper with it so long as I'm not in danger of smoking it. So if the output is still low, I guess I have the wrong value.

I'm not expecting to get 200 watts out of this thing, but I would like to get more than 50!

The 820 should be pretty close, I had a guy many years back wirth one like that. I put a 4612 trimmer cap across output and then adjusted accordingly. Then I pulled trimmer and measured it and put in fixed value. Best way to make sure.

Just DK it about 50-60 watts and tune it up. As long as your not trying to maul it while tuning, you'll be fine.

According to a contact on another forum who has a Galaxy 225, it is an 820pf +/- 500v 5% Where can I get just one of these without having to buy 25 or more? I can't seem to find but wholesale ammounts.

Thanks for the reply! It says shipping can take up to 10 weeks. But better than getting a rediculous amount of something I don't need. Thanks again for your post and everyone elses!

10 weeks is the factory lead time for orders bigger than their quantity on hand. Both links have stock that ship same day.
