Default Old D104 Minuteman II Upgrade??

Hey guys, I have a very very old...Ohio built D104 MMII. Is it at all possible to upgrade it from the B.S. 7volt battery to a 9volt?? I don't feel like going through the headache/cost of trying to go back and wire up a new holder for a 7 volt if I can get away with a 9 volt

I took a look, and I see a couple of things LB....

If you want to drop the 9 volts down to 7 with a resistor, you need to know the current draw, and I cannot find that on any of the Astatic spec sheets.

Also, and most important, will a 9 volt battery physicaly fit in the old D104-M6 case ??? I beleive the NEW M6 mics are a little different inside, with the 9 volt snapping onto a board.

As we talked about before, I put that Radio Shack N-Cell battery holder into an old D104-M6 case, and it fit, but just barely. But it worked fine. And it only costs .99!!

And you can either buy off of Ebay, or make your own shrink-wrapped stack of 5 1.5 volt hearing aid batteries to go into that holder.

(PS... I buy 3 or 4 of those batteries at a time to keep the shipping cost down. Then I put the extras in the refrigerator for later use. I have had some of those batteries in the fridge for 6 years with no drop in voltage)

Thanks very much for the links. I'll keep them for reference. I'm just farting around with ideas at the current moment and getting opinions on the matter. Where there's a will, there IS a way. And if at first you don't succeed, GET A BIGGER HAMMER!!...lmfao

I've purchased those 7 volt bats on Ebay. No problem.
