Default Some schematics for study and experimenting. Share some links.

Working on some stuff for a mobile to get an equalizer inside a radio. Here are some links to share for ideas.

As for compressor/limiter, I have used such and it is good for inside the radio as well.

Always open for help so do share and don't stop experimenting and building.

Hi Cobra, I have to say first of all that this is just an attempt to go cheap running 12 VDC in a mobile. HiDef posted some DSP Berhringer units you can get on ebay for under 100 bucks each if you can keep surfing and waiting for good deals. Don't expect these schematics to have the same effects for equalization and compression compared to the pro equipment. The compressor board weakness, in my opinion, is it isnt fast enough at times and misses features like compression threshold and compression gain.
However, it is fun to built or cheap to buy if you dont have the parts laying around. http://www.ebay.com/itm/COMPRESSOR-L...item230e4c7086

Compared to my rack gear. This compressor has more distortion. However, is it acceptable for cb? I think it is a good deal for 12VDC in a car placed inside the mobile radio.

I did up the passive eq. The problem is the mids if you increase the base too high since you are also elevating 500 hz (nasal). Tapering it back down brings it down but also takes away the boom sound. (Maybe that is okay).

Why not just a small channle strip run on a inverter, say something like this
    http://www.joemeek.com/threeq.html
You can get them used for around $150.0, Pro Audio pre,Comp and eq

    It is for a mobile.
I guess you can put it inside a radio if you take it apart. My experience past a 4 pill or 8 pill is you have to run balance throughout. Then convert to unbalance inside the radio with an isolation transformer, and isolating the shield ground .

I am almost done with a mobile setup using a presonus studio channel and a pure sine inverter with a jensen 1:1 isolation transformer.. Make sure the rack has a good ground. The audio is outstanding.
http://www.presonus.com/products/Studio-Channel Got it on ebay used for a little over a hundred and has nice compressor threshold and compressor gain.

Just an update. I increased the capacitance before the base pot to push the curve to the left more. It worked in keeping the nasal sound out of the bell shape curve.
I have been experimenting running this passive equalizer at C46 just after the preamp and before the audio amplifier chip on a cap modified cobra 148. Works well in my opinion for a few coins.
