well rife hate to inform you of this but you are wrong ..i have never actually seen nitro knobs other than on the net ...on yankie websites

stoner pro40's dont have nitro knobs to my knowledge but i am sure you have a good selection of saved web sites in your bookmarks on where to find them for me so i can fit to the stoner or maybe the siltronix 1011c or the browning mk3 ..help a brother?

Haha my guy can do it but I don't really wanna change the color and I'm gonna have this radio tuned for my amp, and if I can't do that I'm gonna have him beef it up for am and SSB and wait till I can get my Davemade to put it on an amp.. I'm also gonna put some toys on it... Possibly an RFX150 on it

Make sure that you shake your friends hand and tell him most appreciated thank you for giving me a deal of a life time. you have an awesome radio there if tuned right it will walk the dog on most the ducks around you. add a linear to it and you be droppin em all lol

    - - - Updated - - -

that radio on the low side should be a 1 watt carrier and swinging to about 35 to 40... on the highside it should be a 10 watt carrier. and if it's been tuned... there should be no need to do any modifications to it as far as the audio section is concerned. just connect a d104 to it and should be able to hear the wheels rollin beneath you ! might want to look into the battery mod where it uses the 4 triple A batteries that way if it ever dumps on you... you can simply pop the lid and replace them instead of waiting on a tech to replace the original battery.

Why would you want to go and add a bunch of junk on a good radio like that? You already said that you are getting good reports on the air. That radio has variable power on the face. It already has everything you need.

RCI 2950 Someone here recently posted a message asking for available mods for the Ranger RCI-2950 10 meter radio. Here's what I have. Frequency Modification 1. Remove the case. I *think* you can remove either the top cover or the bottom cover to get to the PC board with the jumpers. It will be a small PC board immediately behind the front panel. 2. Locate "J2". There will be a jumper on pins P3 and P4. 3. Remove this jumper to expand coverage to 26 MHz - 29.7 MHz. 4. Move the jumper from P3-P4 to P1-P2 to expand coverage to 26 MHz - 32 MHz. 5. After moving (or removing) the jumper, press the CPU reset button (located below J2). NOTE: Operation between 30-32MHz may require retuning the VCO. CB Channel Readout Modification 1. Locate J1. There will be a jumper on pins P1-P2. 2. Remove jumper and place on P2-P3. 3. Press the LOCK button on the front panel. The readout will now display the CB channel number 1-40 -- also will display "A" channels. 4. Press LOCK again to return to VFO mode. NOTE: The SHF button will not operate while in CB mode. This modification will disable the frequency lock function. CB Channel 9 Select Modification 1. Locate J3. There is a jumper between P1-P2. 2. Remove the jumper and place it on P2-P3. 3. Press the "roger beep" button to go directly to CB Channel 9. NOTE: Doing this modification makes it impossible to turn off the roger beep feature (unless, *possibly* you make sure the roger beep is turned off before moving the jumper. I'm not sure).

It has variable power but I want to talk skip so I need more power then the radio puts out stock. And I want the air horns and the Dixie horns but that's all I want

Don't put a rfx on that radio. Wast of money and a good working radio.

Agreed. Leave that radio alone. It's just fine the way it is. You start "tweaking" on it and there'll be nowhere to go but DOWN. Hahaha!!

My advice is do everything you want to that radio - fix it up real good. Then when you realize what a pile of crap you're left with you'll no longer have the urge to ruin good technology. get it right out of your system on a cheap one and be done with it. mod away.

Yeah but grinding it out, $20 a pop on your knees at a truck stop is rough. It does speak to the quality of your skills though, not to mention your willingness to put the time in. You go girl.
