Default MaulDroppers / CBU Rules & Regs (update 2018-06-20)

MaulDroppers / CBU Rules & Regs (update 2018-06-20)

These rules do not replace any existing rules.

Please be sure to read and comply with all existing rules.

Rule #76: New members are required to introduce themselves BEFORE posting.

This simple rule is too-often ignored so it is being repeated. Don't skip it and don't feed the troll(s).
Proceed to the Introductions Forum, start a new thread, and introduce yourself.

    • Read some other introductions if unsure what to say, but you can't go wrong with the basics.
    • Consider that first impressions carry weight and can be unforgiving.
    • Don't make up a pack of lies unless you can remember them all and answer questions about the details of each one.

Rule #77: Please search first for the project/answer/knowledge BEFORE posting a new thread.

    77A: Search the Homebrew Contents
Before posting a Home-Brew or DIY question, new members and especially beginners are directed to the local "index" to much of the home-brew technical Content. The Contents also includes specific advanced information that may be useful or educational to anyone. This is growing as more and newer technology information is added.

Not only may this answer frequent questions about how to make or do something, such as build an amplifier with two 813s, but it will also reduce repetitive questions that have already been answered many times. The result is that the topic search works better. - And, when a question is asked, the inquiring member will be able to ask a more intelligent question and receive a much better quality answer.

77B: Use Search or Advanced Search
Before starting a new technical conversation, including random questions, new members and especially beginners are also directed to use "Search" or "Advanced Search" function.
Thousands of discussions and answered questions are quickly located thus avoiding the need for yet another thread about a particular part, radio equipment, or circuit.
The Search function is on the right near the top of the window. It looks like an address bar and uses a simple but sincere search engine.
The Advanced Search function is the clickable link just below the Search entry field. It opens a more comprehensive search page.

Exceptions to rule #77, the "search first" rule, are the "welcome" and "off topic" areas, and other areas which the administrators may from time to time define.

Only after using both the Contents and the Search or Advanced Search resources should a new question thread be posted.
    Violators will be castigated.
