3 500z tube amps

what are some of the brands of amps that came with the 3 500z tubes in them? I am wanting to get me a tube type for the base and need to know what to look for since this will be my first tube type.

Drake L4B, Henry 2KD-4 and others, Heathkit SB-220, Ameritron, and some others, if buying any of these mentioned you'll wanna see if they were 10 meter capable, of course there are others that build Z boxes out there also, even Wizard and 55

the glass man in lubbock texas will build them from 1 tuber up to 12 tuber
and then build them to take the 500zg if you decide to upgrade
and run it on either 240 or 480volts

Why are you particularly interested in a 3 tube 3-500z amplifier?
What about that particular device interests you so?

Well if he don't like it after he get's it, he can take the tubes out they make for a nice lamp lol

theres a guy about 40 miles from me that has a 3-500 and some pill boxes. when he is running the 500 box, it sounds great and is blowing smoke. that is why i am interested in a tuber.

there is nothing wrong with tubes, lord knows I agree! i was just curious why you really want that particular tube? There are lots to choose from all with different characteristics, filament requirments, amplification factors etc etc. I wouldnt want you to settle on one kind "just because". Know what I mean? Dont over look non glass envelope tubes.

hello 3strucking I have a GLS General Linear Systems amp it has (3) 3-500z tubes. hope this helps

Years ago Wawasee made the JB-2000. It was an 11 meter base amp with (2) 3-500Z's in it, and would dead key at least 1200 watts on AM if the tubes were fresh and it was set up right . Not many were made, pretty darn expensive years ago. Yours, Ron

The JB-2000 was built to low standards......It worked, but good......not so much.
There are many two 3-500z amps that are really good amps, Heathkit, Dentrons,Swans.....the list goes on....Real Ham Amps Last !
The trick is driving them, use a driver amp....dont butcher the amp for low drive.
And here is the main thing........They last years and years.

all the amps you list haven't been manufactured in 20+ years! irreplaceable parts, plus an expensive compliment of tubes that dont really make that much power per dollar.

Try to go forward with technology, not backwards.
